One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a head-on crash in Prairie Township, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26, the driver of a 2005 Ford Escape traveling southbound on Alton Darby Creek Road crossed into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling toward Feder Road, the sheriff's office said.
Medics with the Prairie Township Fire Department transported both drivers to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital. The pickup driver was in stable condition, and the Ford Escape driver was in critical condition, the sheriff's office said.
The Ford Escape driver was pronounced dead at the hospital at 5:37 p.m., the sheriff's office said. The deceased driver's name
was not being released pending confirmation of identity and notification of family.
Alton Darby Creek Road remained closed just south of Feder Road into the evening hours of Aug. 26, according to a sheriff's office dispatcher.
