Calls to 911 may not go through in Columbus due to an AT&T outage, the city said.

Glenn McEntyre, a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety, said the outage has affected the city's Emergency Communications Center. AT&T is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, McEntyre said, but he did not provide an estimate for when the issue would be fixed.

Anyone with an emergency who cannot connect to 911 should call the Columbus police non-emergency line at 614-645-4545. They may also text 911 to reach the Emergency Communications Center, McEntyre said.

The city's Text to 911 service includes automatic language translation services for those who don't speak English, he said.
