In the last poll after the 2025 College Football Playoff, Ohio State finished sixth among all college football teams. The Buckeyes held the second spot in the first reveal of the 2025 season and overtook Texas for the top spot after beating the Longhorns 14-7.
Ohio State was also picked to win the Big Ten Conference in the USA TODAY 2026 Preseason Poll.
