The Franklin County Coroner's Office has identified a man who died in a head-on crash in Prairie Township.
Robert Booker, 37, died at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital after a crash on Alton Darby Creek Road, a spokesperson for the coroner's office said.
Booker was driving a Ford Escape south on Alton Darby Creek Road near Feder Road when he crossed into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Silverado just before 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said.
Medics transported both drivers to Doctors Hospital after the crash. Booker was in critical condition, and died at 5:37 p.m., while the other driver was in stable condition, the sheriff's office said.
A sheriff's office news release did not say why Booker crossed
the center line of the roadway, and a sheriff's office crash report did not provide further details. Neither driver was tested for drug or alcohol impairment after the crash, according to the report.
Alton Darby Creek Road remained closed at the site of the crash until the late evening hours.
Anyone with additional information about the crash can contact the sheriff's office Crash Investigation Unit at 614-525-6113.
