Ticket prices are surging for Ohio State football's highly anticipated Week 2 matchup against Texas on Sept. 12 at Darrell K. Royal Stadium in Austin, Texas.
In 2025, the Buckeyes and Longhorns met Week 1 in a premier matchup of two of the highest-ranked teams in college football. No. 2 Ohio State (according to the 2025 US LBM Coaches Poll), took down No. 1 Texas 14-7 at Ohio Stadium. Defense ruled the day, but Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin threw his first career touchdown pass.
Five days before last year's matchup, tickets started at $378 at Ohio Stadium.
In 2026, the Buckeyes are the preseason No. 1 in the Coaches Poll for the first time since 2015, while Texas slots in at No. 4. Sayin and Texas quarterback Arch Manning, who faced off in 2025,
are among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy, according to BetMGM. Manning is tied for the best odds with Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr at +750. Sayin, a Heisman finalist last season, ranks fifth at +1100.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is 2-0 against Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. The Buckeyes beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal en route to a national championship in 2025.
