Ohio's Thanksgiving weather forecast for 2026 could include cold conditions and snow showers, according to the Farmers’ Almanac’s newly updated holiday outlook.
The prediction covers Nov. 23-26, leading up to Thanksgiving Day, and suggests a wintry feel for the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Midwest. But the almanac isn’t predicting a major storm for the region.
Will it snow in Ohio for Thanksgiving?
Scattered snow showers or flurries are possible across the region that includes Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin, according to the outlook which was updated on Oct. 19.
The almanac says snow showers could briefly slow holiday travel. Its regional prediction does not specify snowfall totals, temperatures or which Ohio cities could see flakes.
Elsewhere, the almanac
anticipates generally mild, pleasant weather across the Southeast and cool, mostly fair conditions in the Northeast.
How reliable is the Thanksgiving weather forecast?
With Thanksgiving still more than a month away, the outlook should be treated as an early prediction. NOAA says weather forecasts become less reliable beyond seven days.
Travelers should check National Weather Service forecasts as the holiday approaches for more specific local conditions.
When is Thanksgiving 2026?
Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 26. The holiday is observed on the fourth Thursday of November.
