The Short North's newest nightspot, a country bar co-owned by singer-songwriter Chase Rice, hosts its grand-opening Aug. 27.
Welcome to the Farm, first opened on Aug. 22, takes over the first floor of Good Night John Boy, the retro-'70s disco at 906 N. High St. that's owned by northeast Ohio-based Forward Hospitality Group. Forward and Rice are partners in Welcome to the Farm, and patrons will be able to move easily between the two nightclubs.
The new bar features a rotating lineup of country-centric DJs and live music. It includes an outdoor patio, a 50-bottle bourbon and whiskey selection, signature cocktails, shots and "large-format sharable" drinks such as a $70
mule served in a huge copper cup.
The kitchen is operated by Sexton's Burger Bar, where the menu mirrors the offerings at its standalone restaurant in Gahanna. Sexton's serves burgers, wings and sharables such as smothered cheese tots and fried pickle spears.
