While the Lou Berliner Sports Park in Columbus is currently closed due to damage from heavy storms that swept through central Ohio last week, the complex is almost completely open.
Representatives from Columbus Recreation and Parks said almost all the repairs have been completed on the park, which included installing electrical poles that were downed during the storms. Thirty of the total 33 damaged poles have been fixed as of Aug. 19.
None of the events or tournaments hosted in the park over the last week have been canceled due to the closure, and there are currently no plans to cancel any upcoming events in the park either.
Beyond Berliner, at 1297 Deckenbach Road, the recreation and parks department also closed down Barack Community Center at 580
E. Woodrow Ave., and the Anheuser-Busch Sports Park pickleball courts, at 4811 Olentangy River Road, are closed until further notice.
