A 55-year-old woman died in a shooting in Delaware County, the sheriff's office said.
Just after midnight Aug. 14, a man called 911 from his home Bean Oller Road and said his wife had been shot, according a Delaware County Sheriff's Office news release. Medics took the woman to a local hospital, where she died from gunshot wounds several hours later.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation helped sheriff's office detectives process the scene, according to the news release. The sheriff's office is investigating the shooting as a possible homicide.
The sheriff's office is not identifying the woman until it can notify the rest of her family.
