Ohio State will be without offensive lineman Austin Siereveld and running back Ja’Kobi Jackson for their top-five matchup at Indiana on Oct. 17.
Both were ruled out on the Buckeyes’ initial availability report submitted this week to the Big Ten.
Siereveld is one of the Buckeyes’ most experienced and versatile offensive linemen. After he was the starting left tackle last year, he began this season at right guard, then moved to right tackle when Phillip Daniels suffered an injury at Texas in Week 2.
Siereveld was unavailable during last week’s win over Maryland due to an illness, according to a source.
Jackson’s appearance on the unavailable list was unexpected. He made his second straight start against the Terrapins and ran for 76 yards on 14 carries.
He has 354 yards and six touchdowns in six games since transferring to Ohio State from Florida.
Four other starters appear on track to return against the Hoosiers as wide receivers Brandon Inniss and Devin McCuin, linebacker Christian Alliegro and nickel back Jay Timmons were not included on the report.
Daniels, the returning starting right tackle who also started the year against Ball State and Texas, was also not on the report.
Running back Isaiah West and wide receiver Brock Boyd were listed as questionable.
