The Ohio State men's basketball team will close its exhibition slate with an Oct. 25 home game against Butler.
This is the third exhibition for the Buckeyes. Ohio State played an outdoor game against Cincinnati on Oct. 7 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The Bearcats won 79-68.
On Oct. 17, Ohio State traveled to Louisville for a closed-door scrimmage against the Cardinals. Official statistics were not released, but the Buckeyes lost that game by nine, according to a source. Butler has played two public exhibition games: a 96-68 home loss to Indiana on Oct. 11 and an 81-74 home win against Indiana State on Oct. 18.
At halftime, the Buckeyes will honorformer coach Thad Matta, who retired following the 2025-26 season and had two
stints as Butler's head coach.
It will also be a battle between brothers as Ohio State coach Jake Diebler will see his brother, Butler assistant Jon Diebler, on the other bench.
