The Licking County Sheriff's Office says it arrested two people after nine children were found in "appalling and unsafe" living conditions in an Etna home.
The sheriff's office searched the home Oct. 13 on the 13000 block of National Road SW after a referral from Licking County Child Protective Services alleged child abuse and neglect, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
Detectives found 12 people ranging in age from 1-64 living at the home, the sheriff's office said.
Investigators "encountered appalling and unsafe living conditions that raised serious concerns for the health, safety, and well-being of the children residing in the home," the sheriff's
office said in the post. All nine children were placed in the custody of CPS.
Police arrested Jonathan Parr, 37, and Jacqueline Coleman, 32, on suspicion of child endangerment, the sheriff's office said. Additional charges may come.
