Two days after landing a 2027 commitment, the Ohio State men's basketball team will play host to a handful of younger recruits during the Sept. 19 football game against Kent State.
On Sept. 17, the Buckeyes secured a commitment from Deng Ngor, a four-star forward who is ranked No. 19 nationally in his class according to Rivals.com. He was one of two players on official visits when Ohio State opened football season with a Sept. 5 game against Ball State at Ohio Stadium.
This time, the Buckeyes will host players on unofficial visits.
Here's an alphabetical list of recruits scheduled to be at Ohio State for the Kent State football game. Note that the list is subject to change.
Jayden Davis
A two-sport athlete who also plays football, Davis is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound
power forward from Cincinnati Moeller. He is in the class of 2029.
Bryce Irby
Ohio's top prospect in the 2029 class according to prephoops.com, Irby is a 6-6, 180-pound small forward from Cleveland Lutheran East.
Julian Sam
The 6-8, 190-pound power forward from Bellbrook, Ohio, is in the class of 2029. He is not known to have any scholarship offers. He is the No. 2 player from Ohio in his class according to prephoops.com.
Keonte Smith
A 6-5, 210-pound small forward at Dayton Northridge, Smith is known to hold in-state offers from Dayton, Kent State, Ohio and Toledo. He is a four-star prospect in the 2028 class according to 247Sports. He is the No. 74 player in his class, the No. 23 player at his position and the top prospect in Ohio.
Blake Wells
A 6-2 point guard, Wells is unranked by 247Sports in the 2027 class and is listed as the No. 317 national prospect by On3/Rivals. He is from Yorkville (Illinois) Christian.
Dylan Zeigler
A prior visitorto Ohio State, the 6-1, 165-pound combo guard is prep teammates with Irby and already holds a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes. Nebraska, Stanford, Bowling Green and Kent State are also among the schools to have offered him. He is the No. 3 player in Ohio in the 2028 class, the No. 98 national prospect and the No. 14 combo guard in the class according to 247Sports.
