Perry Township Police Department was executing a search warrant at a home in the township's Worthington Hills area when they found a deceased elderly woman inside.
At around 2 p.m. Aug. 19, Perry Township police, with assistance from officers from the Upper Arlington Police Division, were executing the warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Oakbourne Drive in the township in connection with a financial fraud investigation, according to Perry Township police Sgt. Eric Delbert.
As officers began searching the home, they discovered the body of a deceased elderly woman whom police believe was in her late 70s or early 80s, Delbert said. Officers secured the scene and contacted the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation because they have the resources
and expertise for the death investigation, Delbert said.
Officers detained and questioned three people who were at the home, Delbert said. Two of them were sisters, and the third person was a boyfriend of one of the sisters, Delbert said. None of them have been charged with a crime, he said.
Delbert wasn't able to say if the death is being considered suspicious and deferred that question to the Franklin County Coroner's Office, which was also called to the scene.
Delbert also wasn't able to say if the three people who were found at the home are related to the deceased woman because the woman hasn't been positively identified yet. It's not clear how long the woman had been deceased, Delbert said.
Ohio BCI was on scene for several hours conducting its investigation, he said.
