Police believe a man and a woman died in a murder-suicide on Columbus' Southeast Side, according to a news release.
Columbus police officers responded to a call from a young child who said there was a dead body in the home and mentioned a suicide attempt at 2:48 p.m. Sept. 14 on the 2000 block of Bannon Court, a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood near Reynoldsburg.
Officers found one person unresponsive in the bedroom and another in the garage, according to the release. Medics pronounced both people dead at 5:02 p.m.
Police identified the two people as Monu Rijal, 33, and Bhim Mishra, 41. The news release lists Mishra, the man, as the suspect and Rijal, the woman, as the victim.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the two died in a murder
suicide, according to the release. Columbus police Sgt. Joe Albert said they were in a domestic partnership, but did not disclose their relationship to the child. The child is with family.
Albert said the couple was not shot and there were no previous emergency runs to the home.
