A second juvenile has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on Columbus' Far West Side.
At around 11:32 p.m. Aug. 30, Columbus police responded to a report of a shooting in the 4900 block of Lion Drive. On arrival, officers found 20-year-old Mohamed Musa Mohamed suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Medics with the Franklin Township Fire Department transported Mohamed in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 1:15 a.m., police said.
Columbus police said Sept. 8 that a 17-year-old girl had been charged with murder, alleging that she was "the person responsible" for Mohamed's death. On Sept. 10, police announced that a second juvenile, a 17-year-old male, had also been charged with murder in connection
with the fatal shooting.
The Dispatch is not identifying either of the juvenile suspects because neither has been charged as an adult.
Police have not said what Mohamed's connection is to either of the two suspects. The only detail police have said is that the shooting stemmed from an unspecified dispute.
Both of the 17-year-old suspects are in custody at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility.
