Columbus police have asked the community to avoid a portion of the South Side after severe storms came through central Ohio.
The Division of Police has asked that the area containing Hungarian Village, Vassor Village and the Reeb-Hosack neighborhoods due to storm damage from a round of storms.
Extreme weather conditions have caused severe storm damage in the area of 4th St. and Lockbourne. All streets in the pictured area are considered closed. Please avoid the area.

Major roadways included in the requested area of avoidance include Parsons Avenue, Champion Avenue and Marion Road.
The storms, which blew through around 10 a.m.
on Aug. 11, caused damage across the city and central Ohio.
The city has decided to evacuate its employees from the Downtown area because of the concerns of damage and allowing first responders to focus on the outer lying areas of the city.
Interstate 71 in both directions is also closed between Greenlawn Avenue and State Route 104 so crews can deal with downed power lines.
