President Donald Trump will travel to Ohio on Oct. 3 as campaign season heats up in the Buckeye State.
Trump plans to appear at a rally at Butler High School in the Dayton suburb of Vandalia, according to the Republican National Committee. The event begins at 5:30 p.m., with Trump scheduled to speak at 7 p.m.
The president's visit comes amid a heated race for U.S. Senate between Republican Sen. Jon Husted and former Sen. Sherrod Brown. The outcome could help decide which party controls the Senate for the remainder of Trump's term. Polls suggest the contest is close, leading Republicans and Democrats to flood the Buckeye State with ad money.
Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Husted to the Senate after JD Vance became vice president in 2025. The winner
on Nov. 3 will serve the final two years of Vance's term.
Also on the ballot is a tight race for governor between Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Democratic Dr. Amy Acton. Ramaswamy ran for president against Trump and spent two months in his administration's Department of Government Efficiency.
It's not immediately clear which candidates and elected officials will appear at the rally with Trump.
