The Ohio History Connection museum in Columbus announced will be closed until early December for building upgrades and will pause nearly all public events during the work, the organization announced Sept.

While they did not set a specific date for reopening, the organization said that all events at the Ohio History Center museum would be paused to implement "necessary building-system upgrades." All events that are postponed due to the renovations will be rescheduled when possible, the nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Ohio's history and pre-history said.
The Ohio History Connection's Archives and Library will reopen by appointment only beginning on Oct. 8, according to the Facebook post. Additionally, their upcoming October events – All Hallow's Eve on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24, and Holidays at Ohio Village on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 – will continue as scheduled, the nonprofit said.
The Connection said they would provide more updates in December.
Chartered in 1885, the Ohio History Connection provides history services for Ohio while preserving the state's history, according to their website. The organization manages more than 50 sites and museums across Ohio, including the forthcoming, $25.9 millionPoindexter Village Museum in the historic King Lincoln-Bronzeville neighborhood on Columbus' East Side. The museum is scheduled to open in 2028.
