Which central Ohio high school football players had top Week 6 games?

Eleven central Ohio high school football teams entered Week 6 undefeated, and all of them won.

One of them, Big Walnut, kept its perfect record intact in nail-biting fashion with a late comeback. Accordingly, one of the Golden Eagles’ stars leads The Dispatch’s list of top performers.

Here is a look at which central Ohio players had the best games in Week 6.

This list was gathered from games covered by the USA Today Network and statistics submitted to The Dispatch by area teams and otherwise publicly shared. 1. Eli Stumpf, Big Walnut

Statistics: The Michigan State quarterback commit completed

24 of 29 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to Jackson Bowers and Nolan Buirley during a fourth-quarter comeback, as the Golden Eagles (6-0) outlasted host Ironton 47-40 in overtime. Stumpf also ran for 81 yards and two scores on 10 carries.

2. Parker Proper, Danville

Stats: The sophomore tied the Blue Devils’ program record for passing touchdowns in a game with seven, completing 18 of 23 passes for 325 yards in a 52-7 win over Galion Northmor. Proper also rushed for 28 yards and made an interception on defense to keep Danville undefeated (6-0, 3-0 Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference).

3. Nolan Beyer, St. Charles

Stats: The sophomore quarterback had three passing touchdowns – completing 14 of 19 passes for 183 yards – and ran for a fourth score in a 38-0 win over Hartley, keeping the Cardinals (6-0, 1-0 CCL) undefeated and giving them their first victory against the Hawks since 1985.

4. Jamari Snow, Canal Winchester

Stats: The senior running back capped a tough week for the program with a monster game, rushing for 278 yards and five touchdowns (12, 20, 10, 7 and 1 yard) on 27 carries as Canal (3-3, 2-1 OCC-Buckeye) routed Newark 44-14. It was the team’s first game after coach Rob Page resigned amid allegations of misconduct toward a player.

Stats: The senior ran for 272 yards and three touchdowns (8, 38 and 4 yards) on 40 carries as the Johnnies (4-2, 1-0 Licking County League-Cardinal) outlasted Newark Catholic 42-28.

Stats: The senior running back had 242 yards and three touchdowns (20, 49 and 61 yards) on 38 carries to lead the Vikings (3-3, 1-0 LCL-Cardinal) past Lakewood 28-7.

Stats: The sophomore running back returned the game’s opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and ran for 124 yards and two scores on nine carries as the Tigers reached .500 (3-3, 3-0 OCC-Buckeye) with a 40-7 win at Lancaster.

8. Brandt Lichtenauer, Licking Valley

Stats: The senior safety recovered a fumble and returned another 11 yards for a touchdown, highlighting a defensive effort that saw the Panthers (6-0, 1-0 LCL-Buckeye) force five turnovers and hold Watkins Memorial to 79 total yards in a 40-0 win.

9. Giovanni Cotton, Grove City Christian

Stats: The senior running back ran for 168 yards and touchdowns of 31, 14 and 33 yards as the Eagles (3-3, 3-0 MSL-Cardinal) shut out Millersport 42-0. Cotton has run for 398 yards and four scores the past two weeks, and Grove City Christian held the Lakers to 5 yards in recording its third straight shutout win.

10. Kane Stover, Highland

Stats: The versatile senior ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries and made a team-high 12 tackles to power the Scots (2-4, 1-2 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference) to a 24-21 win over Galion. Highland trailed 21-10 in the fourth quarter.
