Yet another Kroger in central Ohio is celebrating a million-plus-dollar renovation as part of the grocery chain's investment in the region.
The Lancaster Kroger at 1141 E. Main St will hosts its grand reopening Oct. 9 after four months of construction and improvements to the 72,620-square-foot store.
The $1.8 million renovation will be unveiled after a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting, where customers can see updates to the floral section, Murray’s Cheese counter, and produce departments, as well as the pick-up area. There will also be a new seafood section and updated culinary kiosk and "fresh interiors and exteriors."
To celebrate the grand reopening, the first 50 customers in line by 9 a.m. before the ribbon cutting will receive a $10 gift card.
Any customer
can enter to win free gas for a full month via a card valued at $250. Customers must enter to win at the store before 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 9 and must be present to claim the prize after the drawing during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Further, customers who use their Kroger Plus card at the the Kroger Fuel Center between Oct. 9 and Oct. 11 will receive an extra 20 cents per gallon in savings.
The location currently has 160 associates.
On Oct. 2, a completely new Kroger store opened in Delaware. The $33 million location spans over 118,000 square feet and added 240 employees to Kroger's already existing 18,000.
The Delaware store is the third new store in the area since 2024, following the Jerome Village Kroger Marketplace in 2024 in Plain City and Kroger’s Home Road Marketplace in 2025 in Powell. Many other stores have had grand reopenings after undergoing extensive renovations as part of the $97 million total investment in central and northwest Ohio announced in 2024.
Kroger will open a fourth store in November in Canal Winchester.
