The Delaware County Fair is in full swing, but the weather is making strong attempts to derail the annual festivities.
The fair and its associated events are taking place from Sept. 19-26 at 236 Pennsylvania Ave.
Motor Sports, the All Horse Parade and the long-running Little Brown Jug horse race are all features of the fair. But bad weather has taken claim over certain expected programming.
Antique Tractor Pulls were cancelled Sept. 20 due to track conditions, and a Sept. 21 motocross event was also canceled because of "too much rain," according to a Facebook post.
The Little Brown Jug, which features harness racing, is set to run for the 81st time Sept. 24. There is currently no indication that the race will be canceled.
Weather to expect this week
As the fair trots on, here
is the forecast in Delaware County for this week, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington:
- Wednesday, Sept. 23: Cloudy, with a high near 66 during the day. Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2 p.m., and then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. At night, there will be a chance of showers before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 54.
- Thursday, Sept. 24: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low of 47.
- Friday, Sept. 25: Sunny, with a high near 68 during the day. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low of 47.
- Saturday, Sept. 26: Sunny during the day, with a high near 70. Mostly clear at night, with a low of 48.
- Sunday, Sept. 27: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Partly cloudy at night, with a low around 51.
