Two chief executive officers were on the Columbus Metropolitan Library's payroll in 2025, even though one no longer worked there.
Former CEO Patrick Losinski received $197,687 from his former employer in 2025 after stepping down from the role in 2024, public records obtained by The Dispatch show.
The payout were earnings Losinski had accrued during his time leading the library system, library spokesman Ben Zenitsky said. The library was contractually obligated to make the payout after his retirement, Zenitsky said.
"The compensation he received in 2025 was accrued from his tenure with CML per the terms of his contract," Zenitsky said.
The Dispatch has requested a copy of Losinski's contract. Zenitsky said the library system is no longer paying Losinski.
Losinski could not immediately be reached for comment.
Losinski was the fifth-highest paid employee for the Columbus Metropolitan Library in 2025. The highest earner was current CEO Lauren Hagan, who made $306,610 in 2025, according to payroll records.
The Columbus Metropolitan, which first opened in 1873, has 23 branches throughout Franklin County, according to its website.

- Donna Zuiderweg, chief of service design and engagement: $243,715.
- Charlie Hansen, chief public services officer: $233,606.
- Anthony Wilson, chief operating officer: $218,774.
- Patrick Losinski, CEO emeritus: $197,687.
Earnings reflect each person's gross pay, which includes their salary, any bonus or overtime they received as well as other benefits such as severance pay, stipends and more.
