The Crew are hosting the Colorado Rapids on Sept. 5 (7:30 p.m. ET) at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field needing to halt a five-game slide that includes losses in their past four MLS games.
After ending a busy summer transfer window by adding midfielder Santiago Rodriguez from Braziian club Botafogo and left wing Anass Zaroury from Panathinaikos in Greece, the Crew are facing a team that's currently in playoff position sitting seventh in the Western Conference.
Columbus is 15th in the East, last in the conference, and has six teams to pass for ninth place and the play-in postseason spot that comes with it. The Crew (20 points) also have a five-point gap to make up behind three teams at 25
points each, so getting three points with a win over the Rapids is critical with 12 games MLS games remaining.
