Cobra, an Asian-American neighborhood bar in the Columbus area, won Best U.S. Restaurant Bar at the Tales of The Cocktail Foundation 20th annual Spirited Awards on July 23.
David Yee, a managing partner of Cobra, told Columbus Monthly the competition was “kind of like the Oscars of the bar industry.”
The Tales of The Cocktail Foundation Spirited Awards honors excellence among beverage professionals and establishments globally, with both international, national and global categories.
Cobra, located in the Brewery District, was a finalist in the same awards competition in the category of Best New U.S. Cocktail Bar in 2024.
The relatively new restaurant bar was founded by chef Jack Dale Bennett Jr., Alex Chien, Josh Spiers and Yee, four Watershed Kitchen
& Bar veterans opened in 2023.
Columbus Monthly recently named Cobra one of Columbus’s best Cocktail Bars to visit for an elevated evening. The menu includes bar food items − Shanghai Noon Burgers, Ezzo Pizza Dumplings, dan dan noodles and Mama Chien’s Dumplings − and an array of cocktails.
Cobra, 684 S. High St., is open Wednesday-Monday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with the full food menu open until midnight and the late-night menu open until 1:45 a.m. The restaurant bar is closed on Tuesdays.
