Park Service Coffee, which recently closed when the Woodhouse Vegan cafe in the Short North shuttered, has found a new home inside Metsi’s. The new daytime cafe will pair coffee with a new grab-and-go menu. It’s set to open Sept. 25.
Park Service Coffee started its life as a coffee trailer in the summer of 2021 before moving into Woodhouse Vegan cafe’s space the following year. The cafe closed this past July, and Park Service has been without a home, until now.
The beverage menu for the daytime cafe will include a full espresso bar, drip coffee, pour overs, cold brew, chai, loose-leaf tea and matcha. There will also be specialty drinks featured, like a maple hazelnut budino cappuccino inspired by Metsi’s popular budino dessert.
Complementing the
beverages are sweet and savory grab-and-go items from Metsi’s. Sweet treats include zeppole ricotta doughnuts and a gluten-free almond cake, while savories include slices of wood-fired pepper quiche, a mortadella sandwich on house-made sourdough focaccia, a chicken Caesar wrap and a farro and stone fruit salad.
Park Service Coffee at Metsi’s officially opens on Sept. 25. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays. Metsi’s is located at 36 E. Lincoln St. in the Short North.

- The metro soon will be down two breweries. Outerbelt Brewing in Carroll is to close on Oct. 5, and Hoster Brewing will close its James Road taproom after Oct. 31.
- The Bearded Baker shared that its shop at 2918 E. Main St. is temporarily closed following a break-in recently.
- Granville’s Buxton Inn reopened after extensive renovations from its new owners. The historic inn had been closed after a major fire in 2022.
- The Cajun food truck and caterer JamJam has opened a brick-and-mortar shop inside the Sweet Harmony Canal bar and music venue in Canal Winchester. JamJam is owned by Justin Boehme, who previously operated Da Levee in the Short North.
- The O’Charley’s chain has shuttered its remaining locations, including the last two in central Ohio, one at 2272 Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road in Reynoldsburg and one at 6224 Gender Road in Canal Winchester.
