The Ohio high school boys soccer regular season has concluded. That means it is time to determine the top Columbus-area player for the regular season by voting for your choice.
The 17 candidates are below, in alphabetical order. After reading their bios, scroll down to the ballot and cast your vote.
Voting will conclude at noon Oct. 26. Please do not email your votes; they will not count.
Candidates were nominated by area coaches and The Dispatch sports staff. Postseason accomplishments are not included.
In addition, keep an eye out for the annual All-Metro teams for fall sports in November and December.
Grayson Adams, Jonathan Alder: The junior has grown into more of an offensive threat this fall, collecting 18 goals and 11 assists for a Pioneers
team (13-3) that went 10-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference-Kenton Trail. That far exceeds Adams’ 12 goals and three assists from 2025.
Tre Berry, DeSales: The senior midfielder, Ohio State commit and son of former OSU football player Gary Berry drew praise from multiple coaches after leading the Stallions to a 10-6-1 regular season and the No. 2 seed in the Division III district tournament. One opposing coach said Berry “would be the best player on any team in the Central District regardless of division.”
AJ Boiarsky, St. Charles: The versatile senior midfielder and Kenyon commit has been integral to the Cardinals’ offense and defense, according to coach Chris Vonau, whose team is seeded third in the Division I postseason. St. Charles (13-3-1) outscored its regular-season opponents 42-17.
Adrien Davis, Westerville Central: Called the Warhawks’ “most consistent player” by coach Hunter Robertson, the sophomore midfielder has largely controlled possession and helped dictate the pace of play for a team aiming for a return to the Division II state tournament. Davis has assisted on three goals.
Grayson Davis, Watterson: The senior center back had seven goals and 11 assists despite his defensive-oriented responsibilities for the defending Division III state champions (13-3-1). Davis is a four-year letterwinner.
Erkan Erciyas, Worthington Kilbourne: The junior forward leads the Wolves (13-3-1) in goals (15) and assists (6). Coach Jonathan Sprunger called Erciyas, who also kicks for Kilbourne’s football team, “the hardest-working player on our team and a mentor to his teammates.”
Nishan Gregory, Dublin Coffman: A four-year starter and leader in goals three of those seasons, the senior forward has nine goals and six assists to lead the Shamrocks (6-8-1). An all-state player in Division I last year, Gregory is committed to IU-Indianapolis.
Will Hamill, Jonathan Alder: The senior is one of the top offensive threats in central Ohio, having racked up 20 goals and 24 assists. His assists lead the Central Buckeye Conference, and his goals and total points (64) are second.
Maddox Keifer, Westerville Central: The senior forward had eight goals for a Warhawks team that went 8-5-4 on the heels of a Division II regional championship, the first in the program’s 23-year history.
Sam Meacham, Watterson: The senior midfielder and four-year letterwinner has anchored the Eagles’ offense with 10 goals and 11 assists. Watterson, the top seed in the Division III district tournament, outscored its opponents 64-30 in the regular season.
Liam Neidenthal, Dublin Jerome: The senior forward leads the defending Division I state champion Celtics (14-2-1) with seven goals and nine assists as one of several returnees back from last year’s title team. Jerome’s only losses were to perennial powers Cleveland St. Ignatius and St. Charles.
Adam Peters, West Jefferson: The junior forward had 22 goals and 18 assists to lead both the Roughriders (6-10-1) and the Ohio Heritage Conference. His 62 points also are the most in the league regardless of division.
Ty Schroeder, Fairbanks: The sophomore forward enjoyed a breakout season last year during the Panthers’ run to a Division V state semifinal and has remained strong this fall with 20 goals and two assists. Fairbanks (15-2) is the top seed in the district.
Carter Smith, Westerville North: The senior center midfielder led the Warriors to a 15-0-2 record – the first unbeaten regular season in program history – with team highs in goals (14) and assists (8). Coach Nate Hartnell said Smith’s “technical skill, work rate, awareness, soccer IQ and composure separate him from other players. Carter has the ability to make difficult look easy.”
Satchel Tarr, Hilliard Davidson: The Wildcats’ junior goalie had six shutouts in 14 games – he missed two games because of injury – and allowed 20 goals. One of his 50-plus saves came on a penalty kick, and according to coach Pat Billman, “he does fantastic with aerial balls, avoiding set piece goals and using his feet.”
Seth Tedla, Olentangy Orange: The senior forward has led the way for the Pioneers (14-0-3), the No. 2 seed in the Division I district tournament, with 17 goals and eight assists. Tedla has factored into more than 40% of Orange’s 61 goals.
Ethan Weiser, Olentangy Orange: A senior center midfielder and second-year starter, Weiser has six goals and 14 assists – the latter a single-season program record. Coach Tony Diaz called Weiser “our attacking catalyst [who] presents a dynamic attacking threat when he has the ball at his feet.”
