The Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Festival will return for its 60th year, immersing visitors in a world of hands-on activities, music, food trucks and works by both seasoned and fledgling artists.
More than 130 juried artists will line the streets displaying and selling paintings, pottery, mixed-media art, woodwork, ceramics and other art media.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 7 at 2850 Tremont Road, in the lot adjacent to Northam Park. Admission to the rain-or-shine event is free.
Exhibiting artists at the Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Festival are chosen via a blind jury process based on the creativity and craftsmanship of their work and their booth presentation.
The festival also will showcase emerging artists who bring
a fresh perspective to the event.
Festivalgoers can take part in their own art activities with guidance by local artists and arts organizations. Enjoy face painting and creating items such as fabric puppets and prints using Lego blocks.
Community weaving and storytelling will be offered, along with a toddler music tent for ages 6 months to 5 years.
In addition to roaming and street performances, the main stage will feature live music by Columbus musicians Chaz and Nicki with Hangtime (11 a.m.); Blue Spectrum (12:30 p.m.); Donna Mogavero & The Spirit Lifters (2 p.m.) and Long Play (3:30 p.m.)
