League races are reaching the homestretch in high school boys soccer and the action is getting closer to the stage with all to play for.
Here are The Enquirer's power rankings of Oct. 8.
10. Mason Comets (8-5-1)
Last week: unranked
The Comets have had a tough schedule but are once again in contention for the Greater Miami Conference title, which they have won seven of the last eight seasons. Mason shut out both Lakota schools in GMC play, and drew 1-1 with Eastern Cincinnati Conference contender Walnut Hills. After allowing five goals in two losses to open the season, the Comets have conceded 10 in the last 12. Mason heads to first-place Sycamore next week in a showdown for the crown.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Hamilton (Oct. 8), at Sycamore (Oct. 13).
9. Badin Rams (12-2-1)
Last week: 10
The Rams kept rolling by beating Miamisburg and Chaminade-Julienne by a combined score of 9-1. Five different Rams scored in the two games. Charlie Hall and Will Gehring scored two apiece against CJ in league play. Badin has one game left in the Greater Catholic League-Coed and needs CJ to upset Carroll to have a chance at a title share.

8. Wyoming Cowboys (9-3-2)
Last week: 7
The Cowboys went 1-1-1 last week, drawing 2-2 with Madeira in a battle for first place in the Cincinnati Hills League, then losing 2-1 to perennial Dayton power Oakwood. Ethan Nordstrom and Carter Snyder, both seniors, scored against Madeira. Wyoming can tie Madeira for the CHL title by beating Reading next week.
Upcoming schedule: vs. CHCA (Oct. 10), at Reading (Oct. 13), at Moeller (Oct. 17)
7. Ryle Raiders (17-3)
Last week: 8
The Raiders picked up two key wins over downstate schools Madison Central and Louisville Collegiate last week, and end the regular season with potential Ninth Region contender Highlands before entering the district tournament. Four players have nine or more goals: Cooper Neace, Danny Harding, Preston Scott and Chase McCarthy.
Upcoming schedule: at Highlands (Oct. 8), at Boone County in 33rd District semifinals (Oct. 13)
6. Madeira Mustangs (10-2-3)
Last week: 6
The Mustangs rolled to a surprisingly big 6-0 win over Indian Hill Oct. 6 to clinch at least a share of the Cincinnati Hills League title, their first since 2021. They need Wyoming to lose to Reading next week to win it outright. Against Indian Hill, five different players scored after IH had a player sent off to a red card early in the game.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Withrow (Oct. 13)
5. Turpin Spartans (11-0-4)
Last week: 5
The Spartans are in the thick of an always tight Eastern Cincinnati Conference race that will once again come down to the final day. Milford, Turpin and Little Miami are within a half game of each other, and fourth-place Anderson has a chance. Turpin beat West Clermont 1-0 and La Salle 3-1 last week. Sam Harding had three of those goals and is continuing his ECC player of the year campaign with 20 for the season.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Loveland (Oct. 8), at Lebanon (Oct. 15)
4. Sycamore Aviators (12-3)
Last week: 4
Sycamore hasn't played since losing 5-1 to Summit Country Day Sept. 29 and losing 5-1. The team's focus turns to winning its first league title since 2016. The Aviators remain in first place in the Greater Miami Conference at 7-0 and would clinch at least a share with a win over Fairfield before taking on second-place Mason to end the regular season.
Upcoming schedule: at Fairfield (Oct. 8), vs. Mason (Oct. 13)
3. St. Xavier Bombers (8-4-2)

Last week: 3
The Bombers bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Elder by beating Centerville, 2-1. The Elks (8-3-4) are tied for first in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Senior Jack Sweeney scored both goals for the Bombers and has five goals and eight assists. The Bombers are still in pursuit of the Greater Catholic League-South title and host La Salle and Moeller.
Upcoming schedule: vs. La Salle (Oct. 7), at Olentangy Liberty (Oct. 10), vs. Moeller (Oct. 14)
2. Elder Panthers (9-2-2)
Last week: 2
The Panthers used the momentum from their big win over St. Xavier to rout Oak Hills, 10-0, their first victory over the Highlanders in five years. Seniors Bryce Kelley, MJ Lucas and Hudson Ostertag led the barrage with two goals apiece. Elder plays on the road at La Salle and Moeller, and has not won a Greater Catholic League title since 2015 or an outright crown since 2007.
Upcoming schedule: at Moeller (Oct. 7), at La Salle (Oct. 14), vs. Beavercreek (Oct. 17)
1. Summit Country Day Silver Knights (12-1-2)
Last week: 1
The Silver Knights rolled over CHCA and Roger Bacon by a total of 8-0, winning at least a share of a Miami Valley Conference title for the eighth straight season and 14th out of the last 16. Senior Austin Fry had four goals in those games and leads the team with 20 for the season. Senior Harlan Smith has 13 goals. Summit ends the season with two strong Division I foes before the Division IV tournament starts.
Upcoming schedule: vs. Beavercreek (Oct. 8), at Lakota West (Oct. 10)
