USA TODAY has put out a list of NFL cut candidates and a Bengals defensive lineman is among them.
Teams must be at their 53-man roster limit by Aug. 30 and Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz speculates that Bengals defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson will be among them.
Jackson, a third-round draft pick in 2024 from Texas A&M, asked to be traded before last year's trade deadline.

In 22 games over the past two seasons, Jackson has 22 tackles (six solo), one sack and a forced fumble. He played in just 25% of the defensive snaps and, according to the report, is an afterthought:
With Dexter Lawrence and Jonathan Allen coming aboard to bump incumbent starters B.J. Hill and T.J. Slaton Jr. to the second team, Cincinnati has extensive depth
at what used to be the team's most underinvested position. Kris Jenkins Jr., taken a round ahead of Jackson in 2024, could hold the edge for a final roster spot, while seventh-round rookie Landon Robinson is making a push for consideration. Jackson, meanwhile, has been hobbled by an ankle injury suffered in the preseason opener.
Also listed on the USA TODAY's report is Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson. Johnson played high school ball in Hamilton and was a standout rusher at Iowa. Johnson was limited to 69 yards on 28 carries over 10 games last season for Pittsburgh.
