First, let me say that I voted for President Donald Trump, and I would do it again if the election were held today. Second, I strongly supported his teaming with Elon Musk to eliminate government waste early in his present term. However, it appears that the president has forgotten those promises to eliminate government waste and is charging ahead with lots of unnecessary spending.
The national debt has just surpassed $40 trillion and is still growing. The interest on the national debt is greater than our military budget. Yet President Trump is wasting money on many different things.
He is building new monuments at the taxpayers' expense. He is renaming existing monuments, adding his own name. In some cases, he has been overruled, and his name must
be removed, doubling the waste.
He strongly supports the outer space program and has long-range plans to once again send men to the moon. Even more radical, he wants to build a structure to house men not only on the moon but also on Mars. We proved space exploration can be achieved using drones. We sent a drone to the asteroid Bennu, which secured sediment containing organic material and then returned it to Earth to be studied.
I am 82 years old, and I am glad I may not live long enough to see the disaster when we can no longer pay and support the national debt.
