Roads and sidewalks near JD Vance's East Walnut Hills home will be closed again this Labor Day Weekend.
The city of Cincinnati said in a news release that starting on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 4, through the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 7, the following road and sidewalk closures will be in place:
- William Howard Taft Road between 1905 William Howard Taft Road and East McMillan Street.
- Collins Avenue between William Howard Taft Road and the underside of the U.S. Route 50/Columbia Parkway overpass.
- Taft Road Lane and Heatherhill Lane.
- Westbound Riverside Drive between Leblond Recreation Center and Collins Avenue (due to ongoing construction).
The city advises drivers to use Torrence Parkway, Madison Road and Woodburn Avenue as a detour while the closures are in place.
Residents who live within the area where roads are closed will be able to access their neighborhood through one of three marked security checkpoints. Residents should expect to encounter law enforcement at these checkpoints:
- William Howard Taft Road and Torrence Parkway.
- William Howard Taft Road and East McMillan Street.
- Pedestrian entry only: Collins Avenue and Gladstone Avenue.
It is unclear whether the vice president will be in town this weekend. The Enquirer has reached out
to Vance's press secretary but has not received a response.
