PlayStation has launched its Live TV on PS5 service in the U.S., offering users access to over 100 live channels featuring movies, TV shows, sports, news and anime.
Sony said it plans to regularly add channels and programming. Here's what to know about the service and how to start watching.
Is Live TV on PS5 free?
Yes.
Sony announced on Aug. 31 that the service will be a free, ad-supported platform on the PlayStation 5 with no subscription required. It features live channels and on-demand content from companies including Amazon MGM Studios, Crunchyroll, FOX, NBCUniversal, NFL Channel, UFC and Lionsgate.
How to start watching Live TV on PS5
Players can access Live TV on PS5 from the console's home screen by following these steps:
- Go to the "Media" tab on the PS5 homesceen.
- Select the "Live TV on PS5" icon.
- Select "Sign In With My PlayStation Account" to connect your PlayStation account and start watching.

The service is now available to PS5 users across the country through the console's Media hub. Sony says it will feature more than 100 live channels, including a wide variety of shows, movies and more.
This includes:
- Movies: action, horror, sci-fi and other genres.
- TV series: Community, Hell’s Kitchen, The Walking Dead, Deal or No Deal, and more.
- Anime: Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, Death Note, plus Crunchyroll channels.
- Sports: FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, UFC and other sports content.
- News and weather: NBC News Now, Fox Weather and LiveNOW from FOX.
- Creator-led programming: Including Hot Ones and content from Spotify’s The Ringer.
According to the announcement, the company is also exploring an expansion to Canada and potentially other regions.
