Alloy Development Co. President and CEO Patrick Longo will retire Dec. 31 after a 30-year career with the Cincinnati-based economic development organization, including eight years leading the company.
According to a community announcement, Longo helped steer the organization through a merger, rebranding effort and name change while expanding programs aimed at supporting business growth throughout Hamilton County.

Board Chair Tom Saelinger credited Longo with positioning Alloy for long-term success.
“Pat has led Alloy with vision, integrity and a deep commitment to the businesses and communities we serve,” Saelinger said. “He understood where Alloy needed to go and brought together the people, resources and relationships to move us forward.”
During
Longo’s tenure as CEO, Alloy expanded its SBA 504 loan portfolio and moved Alloy Growth Lab closer to full capacity. He also oversaw the launch of the Office of Small Business, a restructuring of the organization’s Commercial Capital department and continued development of partnerships designed to help entrepreneurs and established businesses succeed. Longo also championed improvements to Alloy’s campus and building.
Alloy Growth Lab earned both national and international recognition during his leadership, according to the announcement, helping raise the profile of Greater Cincinnati’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Longo also played a key role in developing #StartupCincy.
“This organization’s accomplishments have always been the result of an extraordinary team, an engaged Board of Directors and partners who share our commitment to creating opportunities for businesses and communities,” Longo said.
The board said a successor will be announced soon. Alloy plans to honor Longo’s service during a celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at its Cincinnati headquarters.
