Administrators from a Boone County middle school and local law enforcement found a weapon on campus, according to an email obtained by The Enquirer.
Ockerman Middle School Principal Michael Poiry wrote in the Oct. 19 release that school officials got information indicating that a student might have a weapon at the school. After an investigation by school administration and the school's resource officer, a weapon was located and secured, the release said.
"At no time was there an ongoing threat to the school community," Poiry wrote. "And there is currently no risk to students or staff."
The Enquirer contacted the Boone County Sheriff's Office for more information but did not immediately recieve a response.
