The Baltimore Ravens have ruled out quarterback Lamar Jackson for their Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jackson, in his ninth season in the league, completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards and six touchdowns before suffering a high ankle sprain against the Tennessee Titans just before halftime.
In 14 career games against the Bengals, Jackson has a passer rating of 101.9 while throwing for 2,868 yards and 24 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
His backup, Tyler "Snoop" Huntley, has thrown for 429 yards and three touchdowns in his absence, leading the Ravens to wins over Tennessee and Atlanta before they lost to Cleveland.
Huntley's last start against the Bengals came in the divisional
round of the 2023 playoffs. He threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the 24-17 win, but that game is remembered by fans more for Sam Hubbard's 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown that provided the final score.
The injury update is positive news for the Bengals, who rank 17th in the league with 221.2 passing yards allowed per game. However, the Ravens may turn more to the running game, which would spell trouble for Cincinnati, which ranks 23rd in the league with 155.3 rushing yards allowed per game.
