Cracker Barrel has sold its Maple Street Biscuit Company brand, but the chain's Greater Cincinnati locations aren't going away.
The company announced on July 20 that it sold the Jacksonville, Florida-based breakfast chain to Louisville-based Biscuit Belly, LLC.
The sale includes 35 of Maple Street's 51 locations, all of which will stay open and transition to the Biscuit Belly brand over the next 18 to 24 months, according to a press release. The remaining 16 Maple Street restaurants will close when the sale is completed.
The Maple Street locations in Mason and Florence are among the restaurants that will be converted into Biscuit Belly spots. The conversion is expected to be completed by the third fiscal quarter of 2026, the release adds.
The locations
are listed as "temporarily closed" on Google. The Enquirer is reaching out to the company for details.
The move comes less than a year after Cracker Barrel closed 14 Maple Street locations in September 2025. The company said at the time that those restaurants "simply didn't meet our financial expectations," according to a statement provided to USA TODAY.
Cracker Barrel acquired Maple Street Biscuit Company in 2019 for $36 million. The breakfast chain was founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2012, and serves a variety of biscuits and other breakfast foods. At the time of the acquisition, Maple Street had 28 company-owned locations and five franchised locations across seven states.
Biscuit Belly opened its first location in 2019 and has grown to 15 locations across the Southeast, according to the company.
