Amazon is bringing back a fuel discount for Prime members as gas prices remain high and Ohio lawmakers plan to vote on suspending the state's gas tax to relieve pressure at the pump.

How to get Amazon's 20-cent gas discount in Ohio
The offer runs every Friday from Oct. 2 through Jan. 29, 2027. The discount can be used once each Friday.
Starting Oct. 2, Prime members who link their Amazon account to BP's Earnify rewards program can save 20 cents per gallon every Friday.
Those who sign up can redeem the reward by entering a phone number at the pump or using the Earnify app at BP, Amoco, and participating ampm and Thorntons locations.
Here's how to redeem the offer:
- Have an active Amazon Prime membership.
- Create a free Earnify account.
- Link your Amazon and Earnify accounts.
- Enter your linked phone number at the pump or use the Earnify app to redeem the discount.
After the promotion ends, Prime members can continue saving 10 cents per gallon at participating stations through the Amazon-Earnify partnership. Canceling a Prime membership immediately ends access to the offer.

Is there a limit on how much gas you can buy?
Amazon says the discount applies to all fuel grades and there are no minimum or maximum gallon requirements.

Amazon says the Friday discount combines Earnify's standard savings, Prime-member savings and an additional promotional discount, bringing the total savings to 20 cents per gallon.

Current gas prices in Ohio
The promotion comes as Ohio drivers continue to face high prices at the pump.
As of Sept. 30, Ohio drivers were paying an average of $4.24 a gallon for regular gas, according to AAA. Average prices were $4.79 for midgrade, $5.33 for premium and $6.68 for diesel. The national average for regular gas was $4.43 per gallon.
Among Ohio's largest metro areas, regular gas averaged $4.21 in Cincinnati, compared with $4.24 in Columbus and $4.17 in Dayton.
How many BP stations are in Ohio?
Ohio has 502 BP stations in the state, including 37 in Columbus, 30 in Cincinnati, 11 in Akron and six in Canton, according to its station directory.
Additionally, there are five in Florence, two in Covington and several locations in Kentucky serving the Greater Cincinnati area.
