The Cincinnati Bengals' captains for 2026 features some prominent veterans, plus some who are entirely new to the organization.
The Bengals on Sept. 7 announced a seven-player group to captain the 2026 team, including quarterback Joe Burrow, receiver Jamar Chase, center Ted Karras, kicker Evan McPherson, cornerback DJ Turner II, safety Bryan Cook and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II.
All three defensive players to be voted captains are newcomers to that role with the Bengals, and Lawrence and Cook are entirely new to the organization after being acquired in free agency this past offseason.
In 2025, the Bengals had seven captains with four players representing the offense and three representing the defense.
Burrow, Chase, offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., and Karras represented the offense.
Defensively, Trey Hendrickson, Logan Wilson and BJ Hill were captains. Hendrickson missed more than half the season due to injury, and that was after his contract situation became an spectacle.
Wilson was traded to the Dallas Cowboys at the trade deadline.
Hill played in all 17 games for Cincinnati.
