An 18-year-old is accused of walking into a Winton Woods High School athletic building and firing at a student, according to court records.
Cincere Cooper was arrested on Sept. 8 on five felony charges including assault and inducing panic, according to Hamilton County records. He was not a student of the school.
Forest Park police said Cooper trespassed into an athletic building at the school with a loaded handgun. Cooper passed multiple students around 6:15 p.m. Sept. 1 and fired at least one shot at a 15-year-old student, court records state.
Cooper is the second person arrested in connection with the shooting. The 15-year-old student also fired a firearm, according to juvenile court records.
The shooting "was not a random act and was isolated
to several individuals," police said in a statement.
Court records provide few details about the confrontation, and police have not released information about what led to the gunfire.
The 15-year-old was accompanied by his grandmother when he turned himself in to Forest Park police on Sept. 2. He faces four felony charges, including assault.
Cooper does not have an attorney listed at time of publication.
