Live from New York, "Saturday Night Live" is taking a short break.
NBC's Emmy-winning late-night comedy showcase won't return with a new episode until Halloween night, when a first-time host is slated to take over Studio 8H. An episode that previously aired will occupy the usual "Saturday Night Live" time slot on Oct. 24.
Here's what to know about "SNL," who the next host of season 51 is and how to watch.
Is 'SNL' new tonight? When's the next episode airing?
A new "SNL" episode won't air this week. The next episode, featuring a haunting first-time host, premieres Oct. 31, aka Halloween night.
The most recent episode aired Oct. 10, when comedian Shane Gillis hosted for the third time, with his appearance drawing controversy over jokes made during his opening monologue. He also flubbed a skit, breaking
character and dropping the f-bomb live.
Who will host 'Saturday Night Live' next?
The host for the 2026 "Saturday Night Live" Halloween episode is a fitting one. Actress Inde Navarrette, who's taken the world and internet by storm for her performance in the blockbuster horror film "Obsession," will make her hosting debut Oct. 31.

Navarrette portrayed Estela de la Cruz in the series "13 Reasons Why"and Sarah Cushing on "Superman & Louis"from 2021-2024, but she became a star for her performance as Nikki in "Obsession," Curry Barker's 2026 small-budget, huge-box-office horror movie.
The 25-year-old has also been cast as Rogue in the upcoming "X-Men" movie and will star in the sci-fi thriller "The Waffle House Index."
Who will be the next 'Saturday Night Live' musical guest?

Back on the Studio 8H stage is none other than singer and songwriter Gracie Abrams.
Her Oct. 31 appearance marks her second-ever musical guest stint, following her debut on Dec. 14, 2024.
The two-time Grammy-nominated singer will hit the stage following the release of her third studio album, "Daughter from Hell," which was co-written and co-produced by Aaron Dessner, Cincinnati native and member of The National. Abrams opened for Taylor Swift during the pop star's Eras Tour from 2023 to 2024, including her Queen City show.
