Sending cats to people's home via the mail is a terrible idea. But a pair of local writers decided feline facsimiles were a purr-fect way to share their love of cats and spread a little joy.
A new subscription-based
club delivers cat-themed stickers, artwork, postcards and more to subscribers’ mailboxes each month. A newsletter that focuses on each month’s theme is included as well, and offers Dear Tabby’s answers to reader questions, along with ideas for screen-free activities.
The mail club is the brainchild of Wyoming, Ohio, residents and professional writers Emilie Copeland D’Agostino and Janice Brewster.

“We were looking for ways to bring joy to people and something tactile and special they could look forward to getting in the mail,” D’Agostino said, “and what’s more joyous than getting cat-themed goodies delivered right to your door?"
Brewster said the duo has been relying on social media and coming up with themes was easy. Both are cat-lovers and support the idea that cats bring everyone joy.
She and her mailing service partner want to showcase local artists and others, and they are hoping to build a stable of artists to bring their creativity to the monthly themes.
Inside the September Artsy Cats edition, there was kitty love and more. There was a cat sticker, a colorful cat postcard, art-filled activities to try, a four-page monthly Mewsletter and answers to subscribers' questions for Dear Tabby.
A subscription for recipients in the U.S. is priced at $8.99 per month, with free shipping and sales tax where applicable. Subscriptions can also be purchased as gifts.

How does the club work?
When you subscribe by the 19th of the month, you'll receive your Dear Tabby mail the following month. For example, if you signed up by Aug. 19, you received a letter by the second week of September.
Can I track my letter from Dear Tabby?
Letters are sent via first-class mail, which unfortunately can't be tracked. If you haven't received your letter by the 15th of the month, send an email to deartabbymailclub@gmail.com.
I live outside the US. Can I subscribe to the club?
Not yet. The club is currently only sending letters to residents of the U.S., but the women hope to expand to international deliveries at some point.
Can I write to Dear Tabby?
Yes. You can even ask questions. Email her at deartabbymailclub@gmail.com.
“As the club grows, we look forward to creating a community of cat lovers and artists to support,” Brewster says.
The club highlights a community cat of the month in each issue and supports local cat welfare organizations. Upcoming themes include black cats for Halloween, Japanese cat culture, and orange cat shenanigans.
