O'Charley's will close all company locations Sept. 9, including those in Ohio, ending the restaurant chain's 55-year run.
Reports began circulating online Sept. 8 that O'Charley's, a Tennessee-based restaurant chain, would begin closing most of its locations the next day. Servers at restaurants across Ohio confirmed their locations would close at 8 p.m. Sept. 9.

Is O'Charley's closing all of its locations?
Employees at locations across Ohio confirmed that all O'Charley's company locations would close at 8 p.m. Sept. 9, ending the chain's legacy spanning more than 50 years.
Some ongoing online discussions about the closings suggest that franchised locations might remain open after the deadline. The Tennessean, also part of the USA Today network,
contacted the company for confirmation but has not yet received a response.
The O'Charley's restaurant chain was originally founded in 1971 in Tennessee and has since become a popular dining spot across the Midwest and South. The chain's menu includes classic Southern cooking as well as more casual American dishes like burgers, chicken tenders, steaks and seafood.
Since 2010, the restaurant has closed about 200 locations, according to the restaurant locator, which now only has 44 locations listed.
How many O'Charley's are in Ohio?
According to the restaurant's locator, eight locations are open in Ohio. There are two in central Ohio, two in the northern half of the state and the rest are concentrated in the Cincinnati area.
Employees of these locations confirmed their restaurants will be closing permanently Sept. 9:
- Reynoldsburg: 2272 Baltimore Reynoldsburg Rd.
- Canal Winchester: 6224 Gender Rd.
- Mansfield: 1335 N. Lexington Springmill Rd.
- Middletown: 3446 Village Dr.
- Harrison: 616 Ring Rd.
- Springdale: 11315 Princeton Pike
- Cincinnati: 4531 Eastgate Blvd.
An additional location in Niles at 5789 Mines Rd. will remain open until Sept. 27 before permanent closure. That specific branch is franchised, and an employee said the site's managers were able to keep the doors open longer.
