This year's VOA Country Music Festival in West Chester will be the last, after township officials said the festival hadn't produced a "sufficient" economic benefit.
In June, the township provided advance notice to festival organizers that they would not renew the license agreement for the festival to use township property, a press release from the township said.
"West Chester Township recognizes the festival’s popularity and appreciates the work of the event organizers, public safety personnel, and community partners who have supported the event," the release said. "At the same time, hosting an event of this size requires significant resources for public safety, operational planning and property restoration. Furthermore, the festival has not produced
a measurable local economic benefit sufficient to offset these impacts."
The VOA Country Music Festival has been held at Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester annually since 2023, and has featured acts like Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Keith Urban.
