CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati’s “Sing the Queen City” sign, a 3D red and white aluminum sculpture, has been removed to make way for a miniature golf course.

The sign was installed at The Banks, on a lot near the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, in 2015 and pays homage to Cincinnati’s history. It was removed on Aug. 25.

Phil Beck, The Banks Public Partnership project executive, says the sign was removed by its fabricator, Klusty Sign Associates.

“I believe the sign is currently stored in Klusty’s storage yard awaiting its next installation,” Beck told Enquirer media partner FOX19 NOW.

Beck says he doesn't know where its next home will be, but it will not be at The Banks.Cincinnati real estate veteran Jeffrey R. Anderson plans to spend

more than $1 million to open a mini golf course at The Banks.

The Putt House @ Freedom Park would include 18 holes and be run out of The Filson, the restaurant at Vine Street and Freedom Way owned and operated by Anderson's real estate firm.

Anderson wants to open the course by Nov. 15.
