Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant, a former University of Cincinnati Bearcats standout, is expected to miss four-to-six months after undergoing knee surgery, according to Bears head coach Ben Johnson.
Johnson added that Bryant could return near the end of the 2026 regular season.
The Bears are scheduled to visit the Bengals on Aug. 22 for their second preseason game.
Bryant was carted off the field with the injury during practice Aug. 3.
In March, Bryant signed a three-year deal with the Bears for $40 million.
Last season, Bryant won Super Bowl 60 with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks drafted Bryant in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
