Cincinnati Bengals receiver Dohnte Meyers earned praise from teammate and starting quarterback Joe Burrow after the team's 16-14 preseason win against the Detroit Lions at Paycor Stadium.
Meyers had three catches for 29 receiving yards, in addition to a 13-yard run.
"Dohnte looked really good," Burrow said after the game. "He's looked good all camp. ... He just loves ball. The week before training camp, I texted him, 'Hey, are you in town?' He's like, 'I can be.' I was like, 'Can you be here tomorrow at 11?' He was like, 'Yeah.' Come to find out he drove from Atlanta that night to be there to throw the next day."
"That's the kind of guy that he is," Burrow continued. "He's had a great camp. He's quick, shifty, understands what we're trying to do.
He's played a lot in the CFL. ... He's got a lot of reps under his belt. He's a guy that we've seen a lot out of."
Meyers joined the Bengals on a reserve/future contract in January 2026, after spending the previous two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
Meyers helped the Roughriders to a Grey Cup championship in 2025.
Meyers played in 19 CFL games, totaling 89 receptions for 1,405 yards with nine touchdowns.
Meyers began his college career in 2018-19 at Presbyterian College in South Carolina. He also spent two seasons at Delta State University.
