Halloween Haunt at Kings Island opens Friday, Sept. 25, and it is bringing two iconic horror franchises to the Cincinnati-area theme park.
Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" will appear in "Jason: Blood Reign." The new attraction is in partnership with Horror, Inc. — the owners of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, according to Variety — which launched the Jason Universe, a series of new games, merchandise and shows. Kings Island is one of three Six Flags parks in the nation to get the new attraction.
And returning this year is "The Conjuring: Beyond Fear," based on New Line Cinema's "The Conjuring Universe." Visitors will navigate eerie scenes and encounter characters like The Nun, The Crooked Man and The Ferryman in a race to lock Annabelle
back in her box.
Halloween Haunt will bring out the season's enthusiasts, and some have wondered on social media if they can come in costume. Kings Island has a clear policy on costumes during HalloWeekends, depending on whether you are visiting before or after the sun goes down.
Are costumes allowed during Halloween Haunt at Kings Island?
Wearing costumes or face coverings that conceal your identity — such as balaclavas, masks or theatrical makeup — to the nighttime frights events are not permitted, according to Kings Island's Halloween Haunt policies. Those not abiding by the policy will not be admitted to Halloween Haunt, and tickets will not be refunded. And some rides may have restrictions on attire, as well, so that costume could keep you off a coaster.
Attire must conform to Kings Islands' code of conduct, which bans clothing with offensive language, obscene gestures/graphics or nudity, or clothing that does not sufficiently cover undergarments.
During the daytime Tricks and Treats, however, Kings Island will hold a costume contest and trick-or-treating for the youngsters. The park's code of conduct allows for "themed attire" that is family friendly, does not resemble any park character or potentially harm others, and conforms to dress code.
