For the second consecutive day, Mother Nature has interrupted the Cincinnati Redsweekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Reds-Brewers entered a weather delay at 7:42 p.m. during the bottom of the fourth inning with lightning spotted in the area.
This delay interrupted the Reds' bid to tie or take the lead against the Brewers. Trailing 2-1, the Reds got their first baserunners since the first inning when JJ Bleday lined a one-out single to right field. Two batters later, Eugenio Suárezlined a full-count pitch into left-center field for a base hit.
Once
Bleday turned on the brakes at third, the grounds crew sprinted down the right-field line to get the tarp ready for the reported rain in the area.
