Plenty of people are, with the McDonald's menu hack going viral on social media in recent days. It even caught the attention of McDonald's Global Brand Strategy leader, Guillaume Huin, who posted to X he was planning to try one soon.
"Someone called it a 'masterpiece' after eating it," he stated in his post.
The Cookie McDouble hack has been around for a while, Huin also posted, appearing in TikTok videos as far back as 2020. But it is the first time the hack has gone so widely viral. McDonald's TikTok account even commented on some videos.

What is the McDonald's Cookie McDouble, or Cookie McMonster?
The Cookie McDouble, also called a Cookie McMonster by the X account McFranchisee, a McDonald's franchise owner, is exactly what it sounds like — a McDonald's chocolate chip cookie on a McDouble cheeseburger.
Huin and McFranchisee recommend ordering the burger plain, but TikTok videos show people eating the combination with the included onions, ketchup, mustard and pickles.

A nine-second video from @realjonaee_ on went viral on TikTok with 10.6 million views, nearly 990,000 reactions and 70,000 comments. The video claims adding a cookie to the cheeseburger is the only way to eat it.

Naturally, that video caused other content creators to taste-test the Cookie McDouble and post their videos about it. Some say the cookie just adds a bit of sweetness to the cheeseburger — a sweet and savory combo — and that the chocolate isn't that noticeable among the other flavors.
